About the M.S. in Agricultural Education
The master's program is offers tracks that suit full-time students or full-time professionals. You'll choose between a Research or Professional emphasis to tailor your studies for a future in teaching, extension education, entrepreneurship, or communication in the agricultural industry.
Graduate Assistantships
Students applying to the M.S. Agricultural Education Research Emphasis are eligible to apply for a graduate assistantship (GA) for funding support and work experience. The GA application is separate from the admissions application — please plan to submit your GA application before February 1.
Research Emphasis (Main Campus)
The M.S. in Agricultural Education Research Emphasis is offered at the Tucson/Main Campus for students who are interested in studying on campus full-time. Students typically complete the Research Emphasis within one year and a summer of their start date.
- Minimum of 30 graduate units completed
- Research thesis
- Research, Methods, and Project Design
- Program Planning and Evaluation
- Workshop on Teaching at the College Level
- Statistics (you will consult with your graduate advisor when selecting the statistics course type)
Professional Emphasis (Arizona Online and Yuma Campuses)
The M.S. in Agricultural Education Professional Emphasis is offered to students through Arizona Online, and is intended for those who are interested in pursuing a master's degree while working full-time. While students complete the curriculum at their own pace, the degree must be completed within six years of starting.
